FAQs

Finding the right mental health provider doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

  • Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We begin by learning more about you, your goals, current challenges, and what brought you to therapy. Together, we explore what has or hasn’t worked in the past, clarify your priorities, and begin shaping a plan that fits your needs.
You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about our approach, the therapy process, and what to expect moving forward. Many clients describe the first session as both informative and relieving, a space to finally feel understood and supported.

  • Yes. All sessions are conducted virtually to provide flexibility and accessibility for clients across Ontario and Alberta. We use secure, encrypted platforms that meet all privacy and professional standards set out by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
You can join from the comfort of your home, office, or another private space.

  • We offer individual, couples, and specialized therapy services designed to support your emotional, relational, and physical wellbeing.

Individual Therapy helps with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma recovery, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Couples Therapy focuses on communication, intimacy, trust, and reconnecting after conflict or disconnection.
Sex Therapy supports individuals and couples experiencing sexual difficulties, desire discrepancies, arousal concerns, performance anxiety, or changes in sexual connection. We provide a safe, evidence-based, and shame-free space to explore sexuality and relational dynamics.
Menopausal Support offers guidance and emotional care through the physical, hormonal, and relational changes of menopause and perimenopause. Together, we address mood fluctuations, identity shifts, intimacy challenges, and the broader mind-body impacts of this transition.
Craving Change® Program is a CBT-based approach that helps individuals understand and modify their relationship with food. It focuses on the “why” behind eating habits, emotional triggers, and mindset shifts that promote sustainable change.
Hypnosis and Guided Imagery are available for clients interested in deep relaxation, mindset change, and subconscious support for issues such as stress, anxiety, motivation, and habit transformation. These techniques are integrated ethically and clinically within a therapeutic framework.

Our therapists use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Trauma-Informed practice, while maintaining a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.

  • Our fees are consistent with professional social work standards in Ontario and Alberta:

    • Individual Therapy: $180 per 60-minute session

    • Couples or Sex Therapy: $250 per 60-minute session

    • Extended Sessions (90 minutes): available upon request and booking availability for both individuals and couples

We accept e-transfer as our preferred method of payment, as it keeps processing costs low and supports secure, direct transactions. However, a credit card must be kept on file to simplify billing and confirm appointment reservations. Your card will only be charged in accordance with your consent, such as for missed appointments or late cancellations, and all information is stored securely in our encrypted booking system.

  • Many extended health and school benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) designation.
Coverage may also be available through workplace or union benefit plans, student health plans, WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board), and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims.

Because every plan is different, it’s important to check directly with your provider to confirm coverage for psychotherapy or counselling services provided by a Registered Social Worker.

At this time, direct billing may not be available for all plans in Ontario. In most cases, clients pay for their session upfront and then submit their receipt for reimbursement. We provide clear, detailed receipts with all required professional information to make this process as simple as possible.

  • We understand that life can be unpredictable. To respect everyone’s time, we ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed sessions, are billed at the full session rate unless there are exceptional circumstances.

If you need to adjust your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so your spot can be offered to another client.

  • Yes. Everything shared in therapy is confidential and protected by law and professional ethics.
There are only a few exceptions where we are required to share information, such as:

    • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or someone else

    • If a child is at risk of abuse or neglect

    • If we are legally required to disclose information by a court order

These exceptions are reviewed in detail during your first session so that you fully understand your rights and privacy.

  • The number of sessions varies depending on your goals, needs, and pace. Some clients attend a few sessions to focus on a specific concern, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We review progress regularly and adjust the plan as needed to ensure therapy continues to meet your goals.

  • Yes. With your consent, we can collaborate with other members of your care team such as physicians, psychiatrists, or allied health providers when coordination supports your wellbeing. Collaboration is always handled thoughtfully and with your full awareness.
